Mosaic Group Announces 2025 Beacon of Hope Award Recipients

Mosaic Group has announced the recipients of its 2025 Beacon of Hope Awards, honoring hospitals and health care systems nationwide for their leadership and dedication in implementing the Reverse the Cycle (RTC) substance use response program. Since 2014, RTC has been implemented in 87 hospitals and health care systems across the country.
This year’s awardees represent organizations that stand out as leaders within the Reverse the Cycle network, setting the standard for excellence in patient care and community impact.

2025 Trailblazer Awardees

The Trailblazer Award honors dedicated teams that have gone above and beyond in implementing Reverse the Cycle, demonstrating measurable impact and transformative leadership.

    • Appalachian Regional Hospital (ARH) – serving Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia
    • MedStar Health – serving Maryland and Washington, D.C.
    • University of Maryland Medical Center Midtown Campus – Baltimore, MD
    • University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health – Bel Air, MD

    2025 Beacon of Hope Awardees

    The Beacon of Hope Award recognizes outstanding teams whose unwavering commitment sets a standard of excellence and serves as an inspiration to others.

    • Logan Regional Medical Center – Logan, WV
    • Mercy Medical Center – Baltimore, MD
    • Southern New Hampshire Medical Center – Nashua, NH
    • University of Maryland Medical Center Downtown Campus – Baltimore, MD
    • WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital – Princeton, WV

    Since its inception in 2014, RTC teams across the nation have screened more than five million individuals in emergency departments, trained and employed over 250 peer recovery coaches and 3,000 healthcare professionals, and linked thousands of patients to lifesaving treatment and recovery supports.
    “Reverse the Cycle works because of the people behind it — the peer recovery coaches, clinicians, and hospital staff who refuse to give up on patients,” said Marla Oros, President of Mosaic Group. “Our awardees show that through compassion and teamwork, hospital teams can change the trajectory of countless lives.”

    Reverse the Cycle is Mosaic Group’s evidence-based hospital substance use response program. It embeds effective treatment pathways into emergency departments through Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT), initiation of medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), and peer recovery coach outreach.
